Napoli, Angels Walk-Off Again Over Red Sox

ANAHEIM - Just one night after Vlad Guerrero bested Jonathan Papelbon and the Red Sox for a ninth inning walk-off single, the Angels found themselves in another tight contest at Angels Stadium.

The Red Sox would get off to a fast start against Joe Saunders plating 5 runs in the first three innings thanks to a solo shot from David Ortiz in the first, a solo homer from Rocco Baldelli in the second, and a 3-run blast from Kevin Youkilis in the third frame. The Angels would answer knocking around Red Sox's start Brad Penny in the bottom of the third thanks back-to-back homers from Howie Kendrick, a three-run shot, and Bobby Abreu. A sac-fly from Torrii Hunter would score Vlad Guerrero and tie the game at 5.

The teams would trade blows again in the fifth inning when Dustin Pedroia would single in the go-ahead run and Youkilis would extend the lead with his second homer of the game off of Saunders giving the Sox a 8-5 lead. Not to be outdone Kendrick would tag Penny again for his second homer of the game bringing the Angels within one. Kendrick and Youkilis would finish the game with 5 RBI apiece.

Still trailing by a run in the 8th, Torrii Hunter would walk and steal second, leading to an RBI double from Kendry Morales off of Red Sox's reliever Ramon Ramirez. The Angels bullpen would hold strong into extras.

With two outs in the 10th and Morales standing on second, catcher Mike Napoli would step up to the plate. Napoli would crush a hanger from Justin Masterson deep over the left-field fence making the score to give the Angels' their second walk-off victory in as many nights, a 10-8 win over the Red Sox.
